Meet Sal Torres

Your trusted adviser in financial protection, education & planning.

For over 25 years, my mission has been simple: give individuals and families the knowledge, strategies and confidence to build a stronger financial future.

  1. 2000
    Helping families buy homes

I started in real estate and mortgage, helping families reach homeownership through careful planning.

  2. 2003
    Seeing the bigger picture

Homeownership was only one piece. Families needed practical guidance on money, debt, protecting their income and preparing for the future. I joined a financial services firm and earned my Life & Health insurance licenses, plus Series 6 and 63 securities licenses.

  3. Today
    Education, brought to your community

As an independent adviser with CREA Financial, powered by Lasting Mark, I bring financial education directly to Inland Empire families so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

Questions families ask

Straight answers.

Does the Financial Needs Analysis cost anything?

No. Your Financial Needs Analysis and Money Map review are complimentary, and you keep your written plan either way. If you choose a policy or annuity, Sal is paid by the insurance company, not by you.

What's the difference between term and whole life?

Term covers you for a set period, like 20 or 30 years, and costs the least. Whole life covers you for life and builds guaranteed cash value you can borrow against. Many families use both: term for big temporary needs like the mortgage, whole life for lifelong protection and savings.

What is Infinite Banking, really?

It's a strategy that uses a dividend-paying whole life policy designed to build cash value quickly. You can borrow against that cash value for purchases or investments and repay the loan on your own schedule. Policy loans accrue interest and unpaid loans reduce the death benefit, so the policy has to be designed and managed correctly. Sal walks you through the math before you decide.

Should I pay off debt or buy life insurance first?

Protection comes first, because debt doesn't disappear if you do. An affordable term policy protects your family while you work the debt snowball. Once you're debt-free, the money you were paying lenders can start building wealth.

I already have life insurance through work. Isn't that enough?

Usually not. Employer coverage is often one or two times salary, and it typically ends when you leave the job. Sal can show you how much your family would actually need.

Are annuities safe?

Fixed and fixed indexed annuities protect your principal from market losses and can provide guaranteed lifetime income, backed by the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurer. They also have surrender periods, so they're best for money you won't need for several years.

Can we meet virtually?

Yes. Sal meets in person at the Ontario office or by phone and video anywhere he's licensed.
